Once again I am going to struggle to tap out a few words but I wanted to keep everybody posted on Christian's current condition. I can not begin to express how much it has meant to me to read everybody's comments and encouragement. To feel the prayers coming to us from all around the globe. As of this evening we are at the Children's Hospital where we have been for the past four days. Christians condition is rapidly declining and as of today we were told he has only days left to live. He is on a constant infusion of narcotics and sedatives to keep him comfortable and relatively pain free. He still opens his eyes and asks for blue popsicles. He has random smiles for different people. He is the love of my life and I will continue to pray and believe in our God. Please pray for Christian, for peace in his heart, for healing of his body. Please pray for my other children, Evelyn and Ryan and for Chris as we all try to cope with our current situation. I feel your love.
Sincerely
Megan

I haven't posted or written to you directly, but I have been praying every time I see Freda Steve's prayer requests and on other occasions as well. May God continue to comfort and protect you, and praying for healing for your little angel.

Christian is lucky to have you for a family and you are all so lucky to have such a strong brave little child in your life. I am constantly amazed at your faith and your strength--I am not sure I could do it. I have never met any of you but have been following Christian`s fight since the beginning. My daughter and I have prayed for Christian every night for a long time now and we have wished for health and recovery. I know words cannot ease your pain but hopefully you know you are not alone.
ReplyDeleteTonight we will pray for comfort, peace and healing for all of you.
Colleen
Am praying through my tears. I've never met you or Christian but your family has become such a part of my family. I continue to stand with you believing for complete healing for Christian. As you hold and love your son I pray that God's love envelops you and Love does what only It can do ... heal.
ReplyDeleteMegan, Chris, Christian, Evelyn, and Ryan. I pray the very presence of God into your moment. I pray that the Father come and flood your lives with his love and compassion. I ask that all the prayers accumulate that have gone up over these past 2 years in this moment and release the very fragrance of God in the form of your miracle. May the Great Physician answer the cry of your heart tonight and turn this hopelessness into overwhelming hope.
ReplyDeleteBlessing and continued prayer. I still believe.
As I read this in tears what came to me was the rainbow, the sign of God's faithfulness, and to say God is Faithful. Jesus we believe. Heal and Christian will be healed. Save and he will be saved. We believe and praise Your Holy Name. And Holy Spirit please come and comfort in this moment in a tangible supernatural way that transcends human limitation, that is as fully You as any human can take.
ReplyDeleteDear Megan,Chris and Family,Words cannot convey the feelings that thousands will have with the latest update on Christians condition.Yet, thru it all, God has been faithful. Many prayers have been answered. To me, and I have thought about it so many times, Christian "is" the miracle !!The LOVE that drew us to him, his gentleness and a smile that would melt the hardest heart!! He has caused countless thousands to fall to their knees to glorify and praise our Lord God Almighty! He has filled so many mothers(and fathers) hearts with love overflowing .....he is continually on the hearts and minds of everyone who had access to your blog.....we have felt every emotion his family has felt ...smiles and rejoicing for his good days, tears and heaviness of heart when times got tough, and always the need to reach out to God for the peace we all needed for heart soul and mind. And still we petition the eternal God to undertake for Christian, that somehow he may be restored to health, and that each one of his family will be held in the palm of Gods loving hand, giving Peace and Strength. There aren't too many little boys who have accomplished so much in their first 5 years.Dear God, if it be your will, we pray for yet another miracle of healing in Christians life, giving you all praise and glory Amen !

We are all so blessed to know Christian, your family and a God that has carried you all and will always be with each of you. I know Christian knows his God. ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear and read about your sons condition. their is nothing harder in life then watching your son suffer and fight for his life. The pain and sorrow felt by his siblings. everyone of you who wish they could remove his pain and carry over his battle for themselves. ReplyDeleteHeavenly Father,
ReplyDeleteYou hear the cries and pleas of these people who want you to spare this little boys life. I know we humans do not deserve all that you give us in life, but for now Lord, would you please reconsider sparing this child's' life, to have a miracle happen and to bring Gods Glory to you for this miracle and knowledge of that Glory to those who do not believe in you Father. I know there is no request too big for you to grant Father for you are the King of Kings, Lord of Lords. So I humbly bow at your feet Lord to ask you to spare this little boys life ( Christian is his name )( you already knew that) I pray that if you grant this miracle , that this little boy, will grow up to serve You always. Should you choose not to allow this to happen Lord, we understand for it will be a win/win situation for he will reside with his parents for a Reason and a Season or with you for Eternity. For that I am thankful too. Thank you for hearing my prayer and request O' Lord. I now ask that you give the family of Christian peace and comfort and understanding as you make your decision . In Jesus name I pray this special and sensitive request. Amen
Dear Megan, I've been reading your blog for some time now, and my heart is breaking for you and for your family. I am continuing to pray for your sweet boy Christian, and for God's healing power. Strength, light and love to you all.

I do pray for all of you...first of all I do pray for a miracle to happen and Christian to get well again. But if God has different plans for him, I do pray that He will provide you with enough strength, patience, love and power to be able to cope with all upcoming situations...to find peace at mind and heart together as a family.
Again I am sending you all my best wishes, prayers and lots of love across the ocean....
Steffie and Karsten with Annika, Mika, Franziska and Luka
We've never met Megan, but I have read your blog consistantly over the course of this journey your family has endured. I can just see that you are so strong, and Christian's strength just floors me with each word I read. My family has been praying for Christian every day and pleading with God for a miracle. I look at my own 2 1/2 year old daughter and cannot imagine the pain you are in now as a mother. Most of all, I cry for Christian and his smile through his pain. You will never know how you've impacted me and my family just by putting your heart into words. You, Christian and your family have truly inspired faith in our hearts. I am praying hard for Christian, and may you find peace and strength in the days ahead. Christian truly is a miracle.
ReplyDeleteWith love, hope and faith from Germany xo
My heart is aching with this lastest news....my prayers and love are being sent your way at this time. You have a remarkable little boy, and I know he is very blessed to have you as his mother....god chose you for this, he knew that you would be strong enough to endure all that you have and should the time come, give Christian back to him with all of the love, faith and belief that he will be going to a much better place. God love you all Megan.....hugs from me and my 2 children! xoxoxo

Dear Crowell family, My heart is heavy laden with great sorrow for you and your family as I read your latest blog. Your family has been such a great witness for our Heavenly Father throughout this whole ordeal. I was so hoping everything was back to normal by now as I hadn't been following your blog since sometime in October. It is so hard to express how deeply I am sadden for you and your family at this time. But I do know we serve an Awesome and Loving God, and He still is performing Miracles today- And what seems impossible with men, is Possible with God. So don't stop praying everyone, cause even when there doesn't look like there is any hope, remember God is a God of Hope, and I also beleive God's Will -will be done, so I pray for all of you, whatever it is that God has willed for your son, He will give you what you will require to accept that it is His Will. His Plans are much broader than our plans and He sees the whole picture, we only see such a small portion of it. So my prayers are with you and your family, May He provide you with whatever you will need to deal with whatever the days hold in store for you. May He grant you strength and courage and surround you and your love ones with Peace, Love and Comfort as you watch God's Plans unfold not only for Christian but for all of you. I pray for a Healing Miracle for your son and that God will hear the prayers and cries of His children and that His Glorous Name will be praised and lifted up and His Glory evident through this whole ordeal. Sending my sincere prayers and love out to you and your family. Also a special prayer being lifted up to Sarah and Marilyn as my heart aches for you as well. Blessings Yvette ( a friend of the family through my son Brent)

I have been and will continue to pray for all of you.
ReplyDeleteDear Megan, I don't know if you remember me, but I am Marilyn Sharples' grandaughter, Stephanie. Over the past couple of years she has passed on information about you and your family, and I have prayed for you and Christian so often. I very deliberatly have avoided your blog, because as a mother myself, I found it too painful to bear. But upon hearing of the most recent update about Christian's health, I had to find it and read it. I want you to know that I am continuing to pray for you. For your family and your sweet little boy. You are an incredible mother. I hope you know that. Every sentance in this blog is proof of how loving and dedicated you are. Your son is such an amazing boy, and I love that his beautiful presonality has shined through even the darkest of days. I am so sorry for everything Christian and your family has had to endure and I will continue to pray. May God bless your beautiful family. Much love, Stephanie
ReplyDeleteDear Megan- you may not remember, but you supervised me as an AT student forever ago and we have since worked a few events together. My family and I have had yours in our thoughts and prayers since I found out about Christian's initial diagnosis. We continue to lift you all up in prayer- that our Almighty Lord will grant him healing and peace for your family. Yours in prayer- Jocelyn Fredine and family
ReplyDeleteMy neice Sarah also had Rhabdo when she was 8, the prognosis was bad, but she is healthy and studying to be a medical secretary. Many times we were called to say good bye but it wasn't her time to leave this earth. I will be praying for all of you as we have been there and understand the anguish and moments of joy equally well. I'll pray the tumours will stop materializing/growing and that he is healed. My neice ate crushed up natural organic almonds, which is said to shrink tumours. May God bless your family and surround you with His love.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts are with your family. May they love that you share with each other help you through this difficult time. hg antigonish

For whatever reason, I felt it neccessary to "ramp up" my prayers this week. My heart goes out to you all; you are a stronger person than you know. Prayers go a long way, however, I wish I could do more for you all. If there is anything I can do for you, please, please let me know.. even its as simple as cooking a dinner and bringing it to you..
Christian, yourself and your family will continue to be the main focus of my prayers.
All my heartfelt best wishes... Barbara-Ruth

To the Crowell Family - ever since meeting each of you just over a year ago, I have been truly amazed at the amount of strength and love that your family holds. I have been following the blog and think of Christian often. He is incredibly special and having the opportunity to care for him along his journey has forever changed my life. I will never forget Christian and the things I learned from watching and caring for him. I can remember holding his hand, talking with him, looking into his precious eyes and just knowing in my heart how exceptionally strong he was, inside and out.
ReplyDeleteWith endless thoughts of love and comfort,

Hey Megan
ReplyDeleteI want you to know that Jonathan, the boys and I are praying for all of you this evening and crying a little with you. Our hope is in the Lord and His ways are not always known to us. May he carry you all in his arms today, tomorrow, and in the days to come.
We love you,
Sandy
Heavenly Father,
ReplyDeleteWe have not heard from anyone in regards to Christians condition but will continue to pray for "Your Will" to be done. Whether Christians "Fight" becomes Christians "Flight" may you bring comfort to all those who love and prayed for his recovery or demise. You are a loving Lord and you mean no harm to us in this sinful world we live. The only hope we have in this sinful world is "YOU ALONE" and " Salvation". Nothing else should matter for You hold our life , our future and our death in the "Palm of Your Hand ". My sincere prayer for Christian Lord, is that , should you decide to take him home to Glory, I pray that this little soul knows who you are, has given his heart to You and will not be afraid to leave his family behind , that he knows that they will be reunited with him in "Your Timing". "Salvation" through Christ Is the " ONLY WAY, YOUR WAY " to Your Father. I thank you for hearing my humble prayer O' Lord and in Jesus name I humbly bow at you feet. Amen . Avril, your servant.
Still going strong in prayer to our Heavenly Father, thanking him for all that he has done and all he is going to do. Yesterday someone posted the song Healing Rain on the Hope for Christian Crowell FB page, did you know that while it is -15 in Airdrie right now we are forcasted for rain this afternoon? Bring on that healing Lord! We are all waiting on your magnificent glory to come and heal our Boy of Steel! AMEN! ~Crystal
ReplyDeleteThe great number of comments indicates just how many people have been touched by Christian's fight and your whole family. Faith in God is crutial and every time I read the blog entries I feel confidence in God and am inspired by your faith in God. Never give up because miracles happen. Love you all very much from Ontario.
ReplyDeleteLuke
My name is Mikeala Davidson. I was one of the teenage girls that Christian was playing Lego start wars with in the sunshine room. I am being admitted to the ward on Thursday and if you guys are still there (I pray that you get to go home and rest with your boy) me and my mom are more than willing to be there in anyway for you guys. We continue to pray for you all.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous, I'm so sorry to hear your faith has been lost with Christian's passing. This is definitely the most challenging thing a parent would ever have to face, and us readers cannot even begin to comprehend what it looks and feels like without having been there ourselves.
ReplyDeleteAnd yet, I am struck by the update posted by Christian's dad on facebook: "...our sweet little boy finally won his battle and entered the kingdom of heaven. He passed away in our arms in peace and in no pain. We are so proud of him and at peace knowing he is finally big, strong, fast and free of any pain."
The key is Christian WON the battle.
God's grace is still victorious in death because he has promised absolute healing to those who enter the gates of Heaven. Christian was ultimately healed - a great answer to prayer. Now we need to continue to pray for his family, and lift them up to the great Comforter - it is in this moment that our faith is called into character and truly defined.
"Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."
1 Cor 15:55-57

DeleteMegan, I am so sorry for the confusion - I commented in reply to another reader's comment directly above my own, and it wasn't directed at you. I truly don't believe you've lost your faith and I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. You are allowed to grieve, and you are definitely allowed to be angry - take the time that you need and more. My heart breaks with and for you, and I'm lifting you and your amazing family up in prayer.
DeleteWe've never met but your blog is an astounding testament to what a wonderful mother you are and it has sincerely blessed and inspired me and so many others. Be encouraged by the love and support of those around you, near and far. There won't ever be the right words to take the pain away, but know we are standing with you as you face this next chapter of your lives.
Blessings and sincere condolences,
Lauren
Dear Crowell family, was so sorry to hear of Christian's passing, I prayed so hard for a miracle that God would spare his life. Even as I write this, my heart aches with pain and sadness for your family and what you must be going through now, just missing your little one. Your sadness will continue for some time I'm sure, where as Christian now is probably running around , happy and free of any pain in His Heavenly Father's Home. Christian and all of your family have been an amazing witness for God, and it was so inspiring to others of the Christian Faith who followed along on this part of your life journey. Even though some may think God has failed you, we know God never fails at anything He does. His Will will always be done, and His Plans and Thoughts are higher than ours because He sees the whole picture. Christian is with Him now, and will be well taken care off, your little sweetie will never have to face another day of pain ever again. Please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss, and I pray that God will give you His Strength, Love, Comfort, and Peace in the days ahead to help you to get through this time of great sorrow. God was with you during all of this ordeal and He is still with you now. Rest in Him, Look to Him for Strength, He too will bring you through this as well. May He fill the huge void left in your Heart with all of His Goodness. You and most of us who have followed along with you through this ordeal, know that we all will one day reunite with Christian in Our Eternal Home. On the days that seem most unbearable , try to remember all of God's Blessings you witnessed, as you were going through this last year or so, and may it bring a smile to your face, peace in your heart and praise to your lips, cherish those moments that God allowed you to experience with your son and the rest of your family.
