This is the hardest blog post I have ever written. I will
only be able to peck out a few words as I try to explain how our world has been
turned upside down. Christian had a scan one week ago today. It has been shown
that he has developed a new tumor in his abdomen and his cancer has returned.
There is no need to talk about how devastated we are as a family and I know
many of you are crying a tear with us. Originally surgery may have been an
option but it has been determined that it would be too dangerous and Christian
would be in a significant amount of pain following the surgery. The hospital
has offered us chemotherapy to help ‘prolong’ his little life. But it has been
made very clear to us that he has an incurable form of cancer.
Our hope now stands in Jesus Christ. He is our Father and
Healer. Christian’s hope lies in Him, our hope lies in Him. I cannot type
anymore as the words to express my heartbreak are non existent. I believe that,
be it God’s will, Christian can receive a miracle. Gods will be done but God
cannot deny the words and prayers of his people. So would you please raise your
voice and say a prayer out loud for Christian, a prayer that would bring a
miracle to our family and save our little boy. Once Christian is healed there will
be no doubt about God’s grace and love. We strongly believe that God can do anything - God can give us a miracle and a cure when no one else can. When medicine is done, God begins.
Many thanks to the people who have already lifted Christian
up in prayer. Please join our online prayer group (Freda Steeves – God bless
you). Search Facebook for “Hope for Christian Crowell”
Today I am thankful for:
1.
Hope
2.
Faith
3. Love
I dont want to impose on you. I work in the natural health field here in Alberta. I know of a PHD Doctor in Tucson that has experience with a wide range of serious illnesses that may be able to offer you some help. She will do phone consultations with appropriate medical records for a reasonable rate. I have used her for my own son and send many of my client to her. She is working with a client of mine with a form of sarcoma. Her name is Dr. Bevacqua. Her website is www.wish4life.com

Megan and Chris,
ReplyDeleteThere are no words that can ease your pain or heal your heart. I will pray for Christian with everything I have.
Words cannot begin to express my sorrow about your latest blog. I have been following for some time now and have great faith that Christian is meant to be with you. My prayers have never stopped; I am continuing to pray for all of you. You have no idea how many people you have touched with your blog and how many are praying for your precious little boy. Marilyn from Ottawa
ReplyDeleteMegan,
ReplyDeleteYou do not know me; however I have been following your blog posts since the very beginning of your long journey. Despite my religious upbringing I have spent the majority of my life feeling unfulfilled, going through each day only existing and not truly living. I have constantly been searching for the strength and love that you and your family seem to have. Your strength and trust in something so much bigger than yourself is inspiring. Your son is inspiring. I found myself so curious and envious of your relationship with God. The unconditional love you speak about with Him was what my life was missing. I have begun a new relationship with God because of your blog posts. Which I hope doesnt sound silly! But I was touched deeply by them. God spoke to me through your words. You have opened my eyes to the way of the Lord, and have shown me how to rely on him again. I can never truly thank you and your words enough for that. Although you may not feel it sometimes you are full of grace. Your son is so lucky to have a mother like yourself, as are your other two children. I want you to know that throughout your horrible journey you have inspired so many people to put their trust back in the Father. While for you, this blog might have been comfort, a strategy to bring your emotions forwards, a way to make sense of everything. But for me, they saved my life. And now, I will try with everything to save yours. I will be praying for your Christian, as will my church.
Thank you.
Love from a friend in Alberta
Megan and Chris,
ReplyDeleteGod bless you and your family, our hearts are breaking for you after hearing Christian's latest test results. We live in Ottawa and had the opportunity to view the latest CyberKnife technology at the Ottawa General Hospital last year...it is used for radiating cancers that are considered "inoperable". I believe there are three in Canada, Ottawa, Hamilton and maybe Vancouver. Your doctors may be aware of the technology and we certainly don't want to give you some false hope but just in case we are sending this note and a url along with our prayers. http://www.newswire.ca/en/story/518339/ontario-introduces-cyberknife-robotic-radiosurgery-at-juravinski-cancer-centre
Should you need any information from the Ottawa General Hospital, please let us know and we will try to provide some contacts.
You are in our thoughts and prayers, we are praying for that miracle.
Marilyn and Jim
I am praying. I promise you that.

Crowell family,
ReplyDeleteThe only words that are coming out through the tears are the words of a song:
"Our God is greater, Our God is stronger, God you are higher than any other, Our God is Healer, Awesome in power, Our God, Our God..." May these be the truths and promises that give you strength...May you somehow find the Peace that passes all understanding...
Your family has touched my life in so many ways,
Believing and hoping,
Nurse Christi
My Brothers and Sisters in Christ:
ReplyDeleteYour news stopped me in my tracks...
Tho close to understanding - not understanding...
I too sing the song through tears...
"And if our God is for us, then who could ever stop us.
And if our God is with us, then what could stand against.
And if our God is for us, then who could ever stop us.
And if our God is with us, then what could stand against.
Then what could stand against..."
May His love comfort you, shelter you and provide the strength you need as your journey continues.
May you continue to believe and trust His word and promises.
My love and prayers continue.
Anne
Praying for healing and peace for your whole family!
ReplyDeleteMegan & Chris,
ReplyDeleteMy heart has become heavy as I find myself choking back tears reading this latest update. I read this post last night before going to bed and did not have the words to reply at that time.
But I did pray.....more than I have in a long time....several times in fact until finally I felt some peace and fell asleep.
Today, I am not that much further ahead in knowing what to say to you and your family but this morning when I rose, in my spirit I 'heard' one of God's many promises come out of the blue:
"Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid."
And then later today I felt the Holy spirit speaking to me again:
Corinthians 12:9
"My grace is all you need. My power is strongest when you are weak."
We need to focus on His promises right now.
Your family, through your blog, has helped me have a greater intimate relationship with God. I have seen Him work many times in my life when I was at my weakest.
Please remember NOTHING is impossible with God.....NOTHING.
Please know that there are people all over this world that have been joining together in prayer for Christian. I believe that God has a plan for Christian - a much larger plan - than any of us can see right now. I will continue to pray for His will to be done in Christian's life.....for Christian to once again be cancer free so that ALL glory can be given to Him.
May we all once again see the healing power of our Lord Jesus Christ...
"Lord, we stand in agreement with all the prayers being said for Christian and his family. We are taught that where two or more are gathered in your name, you are in the midst - we thank you for being by this family's side. We are also taught that by your stripes we are healed, so we claim that healing for Christian. We plead the blood of Jesus to be upon this child and family, may they each be protected. Amen."
We will continue to pray. Together.
Roxanne
Remembering you and Christian in my prayers and I do believe what Roxanne said above about two or more gathered in his name... God bless you and give you the strength you need.
ReplyDeleteDear Crowell Family,
ReplyDeleteYou do not know me, but I feel as though I know you. I have been following your blog since a co-worker brought it to my attention a little over a year ago. I read this post this morning at my desk, and am crying the silent tears I am sure you know all too well. I cannot even pretend to imagine the fear and hurt and confusion you are going through now. Perhaps knowing that people all over, from Alberta and beyond, are praying for your precious Christian and will bring you a small sense of comfort, even for just a minute.
"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." John 33:16
ReplyDeleteYou don't know me, we've never met, but I ready your blog all the time. I have rejoiced with you in your successes and cried at the set backs. As a mother, I cannot even imagine how I would cope with this, but your faith is inspiring to me. Our God is the God of Miracles, and I will pray for His divine hand of healing in little Christian's body.
